Prayer has to be specific; - this is so that we know whether our prayers have been answered and we don’t 'make-up' answers for God. Jesus asked us to ask, seek and knock, but if we don’t know what to ask, what to seek and where to knock, it is all pointless.
Prayer requires persistency; - persistency shows the attitude of your heart. In Luke 18:1-8 (Parable of the Persistent Widow) ,it says " 1 Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up. 4b But finally he said to himself, 'Even though I don’t fear God or care what people think, 5 yet because this widow keeps bothering me, I will see that she gets justice, so that she wont eventually come and attack me!" "
Prayer requires humility; - a humble heart is most receptive to God's calling and His plan. Being humble before Him shows that we acknowledge His supremacy and that He is in charge. In 2 Chronicles 7:14 it says, "if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land. "
A guideline where you can follow when praying :-
Adoration - praise and acknowledge God for His godly nature and that He is The Creator Confession - confess our sins and ask for forgiveness Thanksgiving - thank God for whatever wonderful things He has done for us Supplication - pray for other people's needs
Pray to Him everyday, make it your daily priority. We have been given the right to call him Abba Father, which basically just translate into the everyday name, 'daddy' , which shows the deep sense of closeness. Pray and establish that intimate relationship with Him. Trust me, you wont regret it =)
God's servant,
Jeff
that was really good, it was what i really needed! :)
